Zooming along

With COVID-19 concerns and social distancing, we are adopting distance learning technology to keep up the flow of information to the public about our mission.  For example, in April, we hosted a public open forum to gather information from you about programming you would like to see us offer.  Much of the feedback centered on people wanting more information about gardening with native plants, and we hear you.  Our first New Native Plant Gardener Forum will be held, via Zoom, on Monday, May 18 starting at 6 pm EDT.  (Information about logging into this and future forums can be found on our events calendar.)  Lisa Lemza’s document summarizing what we all should know can be found here: Native Plant Gardener Guide.

May’s meeting featured Trent Deason, National Parks Service Preservationist discussing “Managing Invasive Species” — a topic that vexes us all.  This excellent presentation can be viewed on our YouTube channel here.

We will continue to use distance learning for our public meeting and incorporate it into our in-person meetings when public health officials tell us we are ready to meet face-to-face again.

Meanwhile, participate in our Facebook group, Facebook page, Instagram and Twitter to stay in touch.

Until we meet again (physically and not just virtually), Stay Safe!
